Northside Industries (NSI) Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Filtration Unit provides end users a simple and effective means of filtering DEF.
DEF is a non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable solution consisting of 67.5% de-ionized water and 32.5% urea.
DEF is used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems found in medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks in order to meet EPA 2010 emission standards as well as the Canadian Environmental Protection Act for off road compression ignition engines. DEF cleanliness is crucial to SCR performance and equipment operation.
DEF is easily contaminated resulting in such issues as increased emissions, SCR system shutdowns and potential catalyst damage and voiding manufacturers warranty.
The NSI DEF Filtration Unit is a mobile unit allowing users to store, filter and close-end feed cleaned DEF back into vehicles onboard storage tanks.
Consisting of a stainless-steel storage tank complete with level indicator and heater for freeze protection, the DEF unit is supplied with input and output hose lines for connection to user couplings and/or nozzles. DEF specific pump and filter provides pumping and filtration.
Ease of use is achieved via standard plug in power supply to pump and heater (if required) circuits. Just connect input hose to DEF tank/source and gravity feed DEF into unit's storage ntank. To return cleaned DEF, connect output hose to desired location, turn on pump and filtered DEF will flow. Storage tank level is visible via level gauge.
