Quality Assurance Inspector

We are currently seeking a QA Inspector for our West Kelowna, BC location.
We have an opening for a positive and team-oriented individual to our team responsible for providing inspections of products, supporting the company’s quality management system (QMS) through first article inspections, sample inspections, documentation control, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • QA inspection of parts manufactured ensuring products are conforming to customer specifications.
  • Assist in disposition of non-conforming in process and finished goods products manufactured.
  • Conduct appropriate containment actions for non-conformances to limit exposures to issues
  • Prepare required quality documents for customers documentation, and certificate of compliance, etc.
  • Collect and log inspection data for further analysis and provide feedback throughout the organization to promote continuous improvement and determine trends in internal quality.
  • Provide RMA/RGA numbers to customers to authorize return/scrap/rework of product which may get to end customers non-conforming.
  • Assist in creation, review and implement inspection criteria and procedures as needed which are consistent with all applicable standards and specifications.
  • Assist in review and log of tools, equipment, and measuring devices used in production to ensure they are suitable to meet required tolerances and specifications through calibration, verification, and certification as needed.
  • Ensure continuous flow of parts through inspection area to meet customer deadlines.
  • Provide input to Quality Manager for annual budget for test and inspection equipment
  • Participating on teams as the Quality liaison as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Work Conditions:

  • Requires work in manufacturing environment requiring protective equipment.
  • Work area is exposed to heat, dust, and high noise levels.
  • Regular lifting of products is required
  • Overtime as required
  • Limited travel may be required
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years Quality Assurance Inspection training or experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a strong background and understanding of blueprint reading and knowledge of GD&T.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Control methodologies, systems, regulations, guidelines and associated standards an asset.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and positive team attitude for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers and internal departments.
  • Practical experience with product testing and risk analysis.
  • Must possess strong work ethic, highly motivated and self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
  • Manual dexterity required to lift product, use Measuring devices, desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Knowledge and experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar software is desirable
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma techniques and Lean Manufacturing are desirable.
  • Mechanical/Automotive/Manufacturing related diploma or experience would be an asset.
